The new season begins September 24 with the show "The Pirates of Penzance" written by W. S. Gilbert and Arthur Sullivan and directed by David Ira Goldstein.
Expect the unexpected. These Pirates will not be like any operatic version of Gilbert and Sullivan you have seen before.
Experience the energy, lyricism and satiric brilliance of The Pirates of Penzance as high-spirited musical theater. David Ira Goldstein, who directed the record-setting Guys and Dolls, will stage a refreshing and genuine interpretation of this tale of fun-loving buccaneers romancing the daughters of a Major General. Call 816-235-2700 for more information.
Many of you attended the free Pirate Party at the theatre, complete with food, drink, back stage tours and a sample of each play for the upcoming year. Plenty of pirates were on hand last Saturday along with a big band, kicking off the Kansas City RepertoryTheatre's new season.
