Unicorn Theatre - Bright Ideas
Reviewed on 2004-09-07
(Runs September 3 - September 26) On September 3, the Unicorn Theatre opens its 31st season with the Kansas City premiere of Eric Coble's Bright Ideas, the sharp-witted, satirical comedy that proves getting your child into the perfect school can be murder.

Up and coming playwright Eric Coble tells the story of Genevra and Joshua Bradley who are determined social climbers striving to get their son, Mac, into the Bright Ideas Early Childhood Development Academy, the most prestigious school for the three foot and under crowd. But when they find their son has been placed on a mile long waiting list, their craze drives them to extreme measures to get him into the school. With few other options, they find themselves descending into madness and mayhem. This is a dark and comedic realistic look at parenting in the 21st century.

The cast features Katie Gilchrist, Nathan Darrow, and Andi Meyer, among others. Located at 3828 Main Street in KC Mo., you can reach the Unicorn at 816-531-0421 for more information, or go to the web at www.unicorntheatre.org.
