(Runs through Dec 16th)
This is the first presentation for a new theatre that just opened in Mission Mall. The play runs every Tuesday at 10:00 am and is wonderful for children. It is preceded by a 10-minute presentation about how different cultures celebrate the holiday season. Written and acted by Sandra Campbell, a native and resident of Kansas City, the play tells the story of Bessie Coleman, who in 1921 became the first black woman in the United States to be certified as an airplane pilot. Born in 1892, Coleman grew up in Atlanta, Texas. Coleman was ambitious and had a reputation as one of the best pilots in America. She died in an airplane crash in 1926, many believing it to have been sabotage. Give this new theatre a try. They also offer acting classes in drama for children.
