| Located at 12203 S. Strang Line Road in Olathe, this quaint Italian eatery is a gem. Although we became acquainted with this establishment at a private party, you can enjoy it anytime. In fact their family dinners are available for parties of 6 adults or more and this includes coffee, tea or soda. We were served a dish called the "Papa Gambucci's Pasta Feast" containing a loaf of Lasagna, Spaghetti with Italian Sausage and Meatballs (huge 1/2 lb meatballs), Quattro formaggi pasta, and minicotti formaggi. This runs $34.95 but feeds 6 to 8 people. What a treat! The manager told me about a specialty of the house called a chopped salad. This was excellent containing mixed greens, red onions, fried prosciutto, gorgonzola cheese, seasoned chicken and fresh roma tomatoes with a Tuscan vinaigrette. You can add Garlic bread, garlic mashed potatoes and fresh green beans to your dinner. A wide variety of appetizers are also available. For dessert we split Ba-Da-Bing cake, Crème Brulee and Mt. Vesuvio Cheesecake. All three were superb. Gambucci's also offers specials every night of the week. There are two main family dining rooms and several smaller ones. Our private party was held in a room, which seats about 55. Other theme rooms holding about 20 are the Wedding room (decorated with wedding cake and a huge chandelier), a wine cellar (with wine bottles and kegs) and the Dons room (with
Godfather type decorations).

Gambucci's went out of business in 2004. The reason for its closing was common ownership with the Perkins restaurants which shut down. Hopefully it will open soon again.
