Tim McGraw talks high school football in discussing his debut feature film Friday Night Lights.

The film has been doing well and is based on a true story about the Permian High Panthers of Odessa Texas. Tim feels the story is believable that high school football could captivate a whole town. It's a sense of community more than anything. Tracy Byrd may be from Texas, but he's been rooting for the Boston Red Sox. He was excited they could be down 3 games and win the next four against the Yankees. He's a friend with the Red Sox first baseman Kevin Millar, who happens to be his neighbor in Beaumont. They finally beat the curse with the Yankees. The guys want to win the World Series, the fans are great and everyone wants to get this monkey off Boston's back.

Lonestar has been named as the group with the most Top 10 songs this decade according to Billboard magazine. The band's current single, "Mr Mom," from their latest album is now in the top 10.

American Royal rocked last weekend with Super Bull contests Friday and Saturday with entertainment following starring Chris LeDoux (Fri.) and Uncle Kracker (Sat.).

I saw the Friday night show with great excitement generated by the Superbull/Championship bull-riding contest, followed by a fired up concert starring Chris LeDoux. Chris won the crowd over with his wild antics and an electrifying band.

My son went Saturday night and was blown away by the excitement generated by the Superbull/Championship. He said the performance by Uncle Kracker was excellent.
Still many exciting nights ahead at the Royal with the PRCA Rodeo next weekend with 3 concerts by Andy Griggs, Joe Nichols, and Darryl Worley. Then starting October 29 with horse shows. November brings the American Royal Hunter Jumpers, Arabian Horses, and more.
