Dwight Yoakam'S New Album
Reviewed on 2003-07-15
Dwight Yoakam's a good actor and likes to get deeper into the movie business, but he can still whip out some rollicking good music. As with many artists in long careers, his best album may be the first after leaving a major label. From the kicking opener The Late Great Golden State: through a banjo drenched re-make of Trains and Boats and Planes, the 1960's top 40 hit by Billy J. Kramer and The Dakotas, Yoakam proves that he still has the goods. He was honored with a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame June 5. Currently co-starring in Hollywood Homicide with Harrison Ford and Josh Hartnett. Earlier films included Sling Blade, The Minus Man and Panic Room. He's just released a new CD, Population Me. Dwight's hits include Ain't That Lonely Yet, Fast as You and A Thousand Miles From Nowhere.
