| Jack Black is back in this innovative and hilarious film. It jumped to top spot the first week out and I would highly recommend it for kids and adults alike. Hell-raising guitarist Dewey Finn (Jack Black) worships the power of rock and roll. His band members fire Dewey and he becomes down-and-out in need of rent money and respect. One day he picks up a phone call intended for his roommate Ned (Mike White), and impulsively accepts a job as a substitute teacher at a prestigious private elementary school. There, strict principal Mullins (Joan Cusack) watches his every step. At first he can't relate to the 5th graders but becomes excited when he follows them to music class. He has the ability to inspire confidence in his young fifth graders and chooses to mold these young musical prodigies into a high voltage rock band, which could change their lives forever. He is also intent in teaching them about past Rock greats. Richard Linklater directs this Paramount film. School of Rock is a lap slapping, inspiration, and very funny film. Mike White and Sarah Silverman also star. Jack Black is at his best in this fun and entertaining film! |
