Do you ever spy on your neighbors? After watching Disturbia you may think twice before doing so. Starring Shia LaBeouf as Kale, a troubled high school student who has recently loss his father and has a short fuse. After getting into a heated discussion with one of his teachers he takes it to the next level and gets physical with him. Grounds for suspension from school, as well are being put under home arrest. As you can imagine a teenage boy home all day with nothing to do will have to entertain himself, which he does by spying on his neighbors, especially the new girl next door Ashley (Sarah Roemer). Soon the two are spying together.

After learning of a recent missing person report and the car seen fleeing the scene looking an awful lot like the one belonging to Mr. Turner (David Morse) the two become suspicious of his involvement. Keeping an eye on Mr. Turner becomes a constant factor for Kale. The plot thickens as the evidence piles up with the help of Kale’s friend Ronnie (Aaron Yoo). Soon they learn Mr. Turner has become suspicious and knows that he is being watched. But just how much will they see? Are their minds overworking and making them believe something they want to believe or are they truly playing detective?

This movie was a heart pounding thriller. I was jumping out of my skin during the intensity of this movie. I found myself cheering on Kale and wanted him to investigate further. The acting in this movie was wonderful. It was not your typical teen film. These kids could act. My interest was held all the way through and I wanted the mystery solved. I recommend you check out this horror film, just not with your neighbor.

Additional Review By Maleah Moran:
Disturbia is a pot luck of comedy, romance & suspense that offers a little something for everyone. The character development was superb and the acting was believable which explored the natural talent of some unexplored actors. There was a roller coaster ride of excitement throughout the entire film and it kept me intrigued. This fast paced thriller was well-written without any confusion and did not contain any dull moments. I would highly recommend Disturbia to anyone who is looking for a well written, well directed, & well acted movie.
