Martin Freemen, Sam Rockwell and Zooey Deschenel star in the long awaited science fiction film based on the tongue and cheek novels of the late Douglas Adams. Also starring are: Mos Def, Zooey Deshanel, Martin Freeman, Bill Nighly , Warwick Davis and John Malcovich. Those of you that like British humor may find this interesting.

As the film begins our hero Arthur Dent (Martin Freemen) learns his best friend, Ford Prefect (Mos Def), is actually an alien that is stranded on Earth. Ford informs Arthur that the Earth is about to be demolished by a race of hideous Vogons to make way for an intergalactic expressway. Arthur and Ford survive the destruction by hitching a ride on the passing Vogon ship and from there the story gets wilder and wilder. You'll have to read some of the novels to get the full effect of the movie. The clips I saw didn't look that funny and fans I spoke with were less than enthusiastic about the film. However it came out the top grossing film the first week so who knows.
