After a visit to Kansas City, Matthew McConaughey told the Kansas City press how excited he is about his new film. When master explorer Dirk Pitt (Matthew) finds a fabled coin linked to a historical legend, he takes on the adventure of his life as he embarks on a treasure hunt through some of the most dangerous regions of West Africa. They are searching for a long lost civil war battleship holding a secret cargo. This ship is reported to have ended up in the Saraha desert.

That's right folks, this is an adventure based on the novel by Clive Cussler. Dirk and his wisecracking sidekick, Al Giordino (Steve Zahn), meet Dr. Eva Rojas (Penelope Cruz), a beautiful and brilliant doctor who believes that the hidden treasure may be connected to a larger health problem that threatens the whole world. Additional cast members include Lambert Wilson, Glynn Turman, with Delroy Lindo and William H. Macy.

Breck Eisner directs. He calls it an action-adventure movie in the spirit of the great serials and action films that came before it. This film is terrific and has everything - action, adventure, humor, and mystery. From the opening civil war naval battle to the closing credits, I was glued to this film with non-stop action. Don't miss it!
