Sarah Michelle Gellar is back again fighting the unknown in a remake of the Japanese classic about a haunted house. Unlike Buffy, she is just an ordinary human with no special powers. Sarah and her husband, Freddy Prinze Jr. are fans of Asian cinema and the original version of the film. The Grudge is the curse of one who dies in the grip of a powerful rage. Those who encounter this murderous supernatural curse die and a new grudge is born - passed like a virus from victim to victim in an endless, growing chain of horror. Takashi Shimizu directs a film prouced by Sam Raimi. Also cast are Jason Behr, KaDee Strickland, and Clea DuVall. Although it can't seem to improve on the original, this effort should appeal to many due to the popularity of Sarah Michelle Gellar.
