| Hillary Duff stars as Terri Fletcher, a small town girl with a great voice. Despite her father's objection, she heads off to spend a summer at the Los Angeles Performing Arts Academy where she faces stiff competition in a strange new city. All this initially overwhelms Terri, but she rises to the occasion with the help of some new friends and an encouraging teacher. Terri falls for a British songwriter (Oliver James) along the way. Other stars include John Corbett, Rita Wilson, Rebecca De Mornay, Johnny K. Lewis, Kat Dennings, and Lauren C. Mayhew. Sean McNamara directs this pleasant piece of fluff that is aimed at teens. |
