Enid Zentelis directs this popular Sundance hit. Follow this coming-of-age story about a troubled teenage girl who arrives in a new town and, along with her mother, moves in with her grandmother. As the teen begins life in a new school, she meets a boyfriend who invites her home to his stylish, lush suburban mansion. She becomes so entranced by this family; her own mom and grandma are deserted.

Addie Land plays the young girl. Cara Seymour is her mother. Mary Kay Place and Bruce Davison are the ideal parents she admires. Gary Farmer plays a Native American who befriends her mother. The movie comes to a satisfactory conclusion teaching the lesson that things aren't always as good as they look.
