Reese Witherspoon as Becky Sharp pulls off a tale of romance and adventure in the 19th century. The story begins with Rebecca (Witherspoon) growing up as an orphan. She serves rich young ladies at a boarding school. As Becky comes of age, she sets off to marry well.

We follow her through an exciting set of adventures and meet a great cast of supporting actors along the way. Eileen Atkins practically steals the show playing an elderly soul who says it like it is and takes a liking to Becky Sharp. Director Mira Nair hired Reese to play the calculating social climber Becky Sharp who has beauty and the mind of a fox.

The film gives a panoramic view of life in the 19th century and provides an enjoyable movie going experience.
