"ANCHORMAN"(THE LEGEND OF RON BURGUNDY)
Will Farrell stars as Ron Burgandy, the top-rated anchorman in San Diego in the 70s. Will said on a recent talk show that he got the idea from watching a documentary on news and was captivated by the 70's anchors. Thus came Ron Burgandy, an anchor he thought would be the basis for a good comedy.

Veronic Corningstone (played by Christina Applegate) storms into the newsroom as an ambitious newswoman. Ron humors her at first as long as she sticks to female interest stories, but when Veronica steps behind the news desk to offer formidable competition, a battle ensures between two headstrong people who want to battle it out for top spot. Will is a compelling self serving anchor and Christina Applegate is good in her role as the competitive newswoman.

Kansas City's own Paul Rudd plays Brian Fantana, the field reporter and an integral part of the news team. He is funny as the loverboy of the group. Weatherman Rick Tamland (Steve Carell) is brain dead and has some of the funnies lines in the show. David Koechner plays Champ Kind, the good old boy redneck on the team. The relationship between Ron and his news team is very important to the story. Not only are they a team at work, but they hang out together, they go to parites together, they are really like a band and they rule San Diego.Another Kansas City actor Holmes Osborne plays the station director

The Ron Burgandy news team is rated Number one and often runs into other news teams in the movie. This gives a chance for cameos by Vince Vaughn, Luke Wilson, Tim Robbins, Ben Stiller and others. As they meet on the street, they poke fun at each other. At one point in the movie, several news teams meet and have a brawl.
