A wave of kidnappings has swept through Mexico, feeding panic among its wealthier citizens, especially parents. There have been 24 abductions in one six-day period, leading many to hire bodyguards for their children. John Creasy (Denzel Washington) is hired to watch young Pita Ramos (Dakota Fanning). The early part of the movie is fun as we watch this alcoholic burned out ex-CIA operative/assassin bond with a little girl he is hired to protect. He even starts to smile and drops his drinking habit. After she is kidnapped, he goes ballistic trying to get her back.. This is when I found the movie a little too violent but hey, I love Denzel Washington in every film in which he stars. This film is a good thriller that could have been toned down a couple of notches. Other stars include Christopher Walken, Mark Anthony, Radha Mitchell, and Mickey Rourke. Tony Scott directs the film.
