| Jim Carrey, Kate Winslet, Kirsten Dunst, and Elijah Wood star in this Science Fiction comedy about memory wipes provided to a young couple. The plot involves Joel Barish (Carrey), who gets involved in a bittersweet relationship with a free spirited girl called Clementine (Kate Winslet). When Joel learns she has had her memory of their affair removed by a Dr. Mierawiak (Tom Wilkinson), he resolves to do the same. So Joel proceeds to stick his head in the memory erasing space helmet at the clinic. But, as his mind swims through the memory erasure process, Joel decides that even the bad memories are worth treasuring. How to stop this, especially when the technicians (Mark Ruffalo, Elijah Wood, and Kirsten Dunst) are more interested in their own weird antics than the patient they are treating? Will he be able to save the memories? Sounds like a three ring circus! Note, this ia Charlie Kaufman film and anything can happen. Remember last year's "Adaptation"? This is truly a complex movie showing a good dose of creativity. You should plan to see it more than once to appreciate the film and understand the ramifications. Put on your thinking cap and go for it! |
