| Owen Wilson, Morgan Freeman, Charlie Sheen, Gary Sinese and Sara Foster star in a comedy caper story. The best thing about this film is the beautiful Hawaiian scenery. Wilson is always fun to watch. Sara Foster is beautiful and adds to the scenery. The plot seems a little confusing and you can spot recycling from other films. Great cast though for director George Armitage. Owen Wilson plays Jack Ryan, a likeable drifter whose talents lie just outside the law. Hoping a change of scenery will bring him luck, Jack heads for Hawaii. He goes to work for Ray Ritchie (Gary Sinise), a shady real estate developer who is building a resort despite Hawaiian protests. Jack has a run in with the foreman, Lou Harris (Vinnie Jones), and Bob Jr. (Charlie Sheen), Ritchie's right hand man. He warns Jack to get off the island but of course we know he won't. Judge Walter Crewes (Morgan Freeman) offers him a job. Then Jack meets Nancy Hayes (Sara Foster), a thrill-loving local who specializes in good looks and petty crime. When Nancy tries to seduce Jack into helping her steal $200,000 of his payoff money, Jack hesitates. Is this too good to be true or a setup? Check out this flick and find out. |
