Friends enter a dance contest to help finance a dream they have to open a recording studio. Marques Houston, Jennifer Freeman, Omari Grandberry and Steve Harvey star in this teenage film. David (Omari Grandberry) and his best friend, Elgin (Marques Houston) are the leaders of a group who compete nightly at a local hangout, run by Mr. Rad (comedian Steve Harvey). A white group challenges them in a contest with $50,000 and a music video gig up for grabs. Meanwhile David falls for Elgin's sister (Jennifer Freeman). A lot of street dancing going on here and the choreography is very good. The story itself is a little weak. The girls in the audience seemed to love it and you could hear them scream during the film. They enjoy watching their favorite boy band perform with sexy moves. Note the cameos by rapper Lil' Kim and MTV personality Alani "La La" Vasquez. Kids flick! And they lined up to see it the first week out. It was #1.
