Now playing at the IMAX Theater in Swope Park is an animated gem starring the voices of Jonathan Winters, Victoria Jackson, and Ben Stein. Made by the folks that produced "Jimmy Neutron," This film is a tongue-in-cheek story about a nameless Snowman at the North Pole who declares war on Santa because of jealousy. The Snowman wants to take over Santa's territory and reap in the love and admiration showered on Santa. Writer and director John A. Davis puts on an impressive display of computer animation. My favorite sequence seems to parody Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back snow battle on the ice planet Hoth. Large, lumbering war machines made of ice face dive-bombing reindeer. An army of Snowball throwing snowmen keeps the battle going. Santa himself rides a giant war machine that looks like a nutcracker. This 31-minute film is great fun for the kiddies and adults alike. Check it out at Imax.
