Eddie Murphy and family inherit a grand estate that comes complete with ghosts. Shrouded in fog and mystery, the mansion once was a stately palace that hosted New Orleans' wealthiest. Now it's the creepy and crumbling home to a love struck 19th century gentleman, 999 ghosts, and a battle for home rule. Realtor Jim Evers (Eddie Murphy) and his wife & business partner Sara get a call late one night from mansion owner Edward Gracey, who is trying to sell his peoperty. Jim, Sarah and their two children visit the mansion, located on a remote bayou. A thunderstorm of mysterious origin traps the Evers family in the old mansion with the owner, his mysterious butler Ramsley, and other residents both seen and unseen. Then the fun begins. Also starring are Terence Stamp, Jennifer Tilly, Wallace Shawn, Nathaniel Parker and Marsha Thomason. The director is Rob Minkoff.
