| Who would think a teddy bear would shine in this Summer's comedies? “Ted” is a magical story about a boy and his teddy bear. John Bennett (Mark Wahlberg) makes a wish as a young boy that his teddy bear (voice of Seth MacFarlane) could really talk to him. When his wish comes true the two are inseparable and become buddies for life. As many years pass the friendship has lasted, even despite the fame Ted received during his miraculous story. Things get complicated though as John reaches his mid thirties and has found the one.
Lori (Mila Kunis) is the love John has found. As Lori confides to John that their future is in danger due to him enabling Ted and his bad behavior it looks like John is faced with a difficult decision. When John faces losing Lori he helps Ted get a job and a place of his own so they can now be independent as adults.
As hard as he tries to break the bond it seems like John is always that little boy who is irresponsible and hanging out with Ted. When John disappoints Lori for the final time he not only loses the girl, but also cuts ties with Ted. Determined to not give up on Lori, John will fight to win her back. With the help of Ted John will win the girl back, but faces losing his best friend in the process.
Expect the unexpected from “Ted”. I remember seeing the trailer and wondering what Wahlberg was thinking. Now I can't be more pleased that I saw this comical gem. MacFarlane is a mastermind who not only co-wrote and directed this film, but is the voice of the amazing Ted. “Ted” superseded all my expectations and is by miles the best comedy so far this year. Flashbacks to the early 1980's will have fans loving every second of it. This teddy bear has style and this comedy can't be missed.
