This drama about a rural 1940's family on the eve of a new era is a wonderful film. Red Betsy is an award-winning film set in the rolling hills and farmlands of rural Wisconsin. The films' story is about the tensions that arise when a young woman (Alison Elliott) moves to rural Wisconsin to be with the man she loves, only to find herself alone with her father-in-law (Leo Burmester) when the young man goes off to fight in WWII. The film also stars Lois Smith, Chad Lowe, William Wise, and Brent Crawford, a Kansas City native. The acting is terrific and the story compelling. Support this independent effort, which opens November 14, and enjoy a film full of the holiday spirit. Red Betsy was written and directed by Chris Boebel, based on a story written by his father Charles Boebel.
