This romantic comedy set in contemporary London in the weeks before Christmas tells one story, which weaves together a spectacular number of love stories- each unique in its own way. At least two or three of these could be left out to spend more time on the others. The ensemble cast includes: Hugh Grant, Liam Neeson, Colin Firth, Laura Linney, Emma Thompson, Alan Rickman, Bill Nighy, Keira Knightley, Martine McCutcheon and Rowan Atkinson (Mr. Bean). Richard Curtis directs this comedy, which gives you a delightful look at London during Christmas. Mr. Bean plays a department store clerk who makes a ritual out of gift-wrapping a piece of jewelry. It is enjoyable to see shots of London during the Christmas season.
