Rick McCallum, producer of Star Wars: Episode III, clapped the final slate on the last take of principal photography for the prequel, which wrapped at Fox Studios Australia at 6:42 p.m. September 17, a full 5 days ahead of schedule. This is almost unheard of for a major motion picture to come in under schedule. Postproduction will commence immediately in California where director George Lucas, McCallum editors, and the visual-effects team get their hands on the film. Only 18 more months remain before this epic hits the screens in 2005.
