Kansas City Science Fiction & Fantasy Society Ice Cream Social

IN SPACE, NO ONE CAN HEAR YOU SCREAM FOR ICE CREAM!

KANSAS CITY, The Kansas City Science Fiction & Fantasy Society, Inc., (KaCSFFS), continuing the celebration of its 35th Anniversary will host an Ice Cream Social, beginning at 6 p.m., Saturday, August 19, at The Writer's Place, 3607 Pennsylvania, Kansas City, MO. Ice cream will be $1 a scoop, toppings are free.

At 7 p.m., special guest Curtis Koons, co-owner of Clint's Books & Comics, will give a talk about the Comic Book industry and a lifetime of collecting. A business meeting will follow. The public is invited to attend.

Proceeds from the Ice Cream Social will be used to bring authors, editors and artists to ConQuesT, the clubs annual convention, which takes place each Memorial Day weekend.

KaCSFFS (pronounced "kax-fuss") is a club for fans of science fiction, fantasy and horror. The club's main focus is on literary forms but many members also share an interest in the media (films and TV), games and other areas of the science fiction and fantasy genre (SF/F). KaCSFFS was founded in July 1971 and has been meeting monthly ever since.
