He related several stories of heroism while mixing in with the troops in Iraq. Colonel North was impressed by the quality of the young men serving our country abroad. He mentioned how well they operated the very complex weapons and instruments required in this kind of combat. He marveled at how the young soldiers would share their rations with kids who were hungry.

Colonel North praised the large crowd who were on hand to support the Vitae Caring Foundation in funding TV ads to reach out to pregnant unwed mothers to show them the options available to them and the help that is available.

Later I had a chance to visit with Oliver North and took a picture with him and my 3 sons. He is probably off to the war again as a Historian for Fox News Network, but he made a great impression in Kansas City. Among his many accomplishments Oliver North is a decorated combat marine, a #1 best-selling author with 5 books under his belt, and a very popular public speaker. It was quite an evening and a real treat to spend time with this hero.
